Committee for Everyman records, 1962-1966 ( bulk 1962).

The Committee for Everyman was an anti-nuclear organization based in San Francisco. The collection includes literature of the Committee for Nonviolent Action-West (CNVA), Everyman's parent organization. The Everyman I, II, and III were vessels built and sailed by CNVA with the goal of interfering with nuclear testing in the Pacific Ocean. Collection includes correspondence, manuscript drafts and paste-ups for handbills, a partial list of members, newspaper and other press clippings, and printed flyers. The flyer "What Everyman Stand For" may be attributed to Selden Osborne, a member of International Longshoremen's and Warehousemen's Union Local 10. Other flyers urged letter writing campaigns protesting missile tests; protests against the manufacture and use of the nuclear-powered submarine Polaris; and, protests of U. S. nuclear tests conducted at Johnston Island.
